Designing with Gray ~ Prep – Eat – Play Kitchen

This unique kitchen designed by Kendra White of Pheasant Hill Designs and Walker Woodworking had one main purpose; which was to create a casual living space with function and flair.

Casual living is the key ingredient to this “Prep – Eat – Play” kitchen, allowing flexibility all around.  This new triangular idea tosses the kitchen into a design blender along with living, dining, and family rooms, and frappes everything into communal happiness.

Casual kitchens are trending, with doo-dads and countertop trinkets going away, and simpler, sleeker designs coming on strong. The gray, white and yellow combination of colors really make a casual yet welcoming statement. Designing with gray is not always an easy task. Find the perfect gray to complement your accent color is essential.

In here you can eat at a comfy banquette, or in front of the TV or you can belly up to the island. No rules!  Make the space work harder, not bigger!

An eye-catching extra such as the beautiful apron-front sink gives this kitchen a blast of personality. Glistening glass is popping up everywhere in the kitchen. The wonderful natural light from outside is a bonus to the glass doors and glass shelves as seen here. The kitchens perimeter is painted Benjamin Moore Nimbus and is also a frameless built cabinet. The contrasting island is painted SW Porpoise, with hardware accessories making a statement like a fine jewelry piece.  (Hardware is polished chrome by Atlas Hardware)

Cabinets in the Kitchen and Bathroom were provided by Walker Woodworking and designed by Kitchen & Bath Designer Brandon Fitzmorris.
